YANKTON, S.D. ” Think 29 will launch the first Think 29 Tour Aug. 6-7. The tour will travel from Fargo, ND, to Sioux City, IA, making stops in Watertown, Brookings, Sioux Falls and Yankton, SD, along the way. Each city will host an event promoting entrepreneurship.
Think 29 is a media and events company based in Yankton that aims to connect entrepreneurs, investors, and innovators of the greater Interstate 29 corridor. While most cities along the corridor already hold entrepreneurial events, Think 29 is seeking to unite its region so that the total sum of events gain regional and national attention.
The tour is meant to get startup community leaders talking and to support each other’s efforts regionally. Eleven riders from seven cities will be on board the Think 29 tour bus. Each rider was chosen because of their efforts to promote entrepreneurship in their own city. They are being asked to blog about their experiences.
The first event will be in Fargo on Aug. 6th at 9 a.m. at the weekly 1 Million Cups presentation at the Fargo Moorhead Community Theatre stage. These weekly coffee meetings routinely see more than 100 people attend to learn from local entrepreneurs.
Other stops include a brown bag lunch in Watertown, a tour of a new co-working space in Brookings, a tour of Sioux Falls startup DocuTAP, a program in Yankton that includes lunch on the Meridian Bridge, and a Biz Brew event in Sioux City.
The Think 29 riders include PJ Anderson of Watertown, Cory Geffre of Aberdeen, Sarah English of Fargo, Melissa Goodwin of Sioux Falls, John Meyer of Sioux Falls, Diane Daby of Sioux City, Scott Meyer of Brookings, Coy Yonce of Brookings, and Ben Hanten of Yankton. Two additional riders are being sought.
