On the heels of the ICD-10 delay, CMS made another big announcement this week: hospitals and eligible professionals (EPs) attesting to Meaningful Use in 2014 will be allowed to use 2011 certified electronic health record (EHR) technology and use 2013 objectives and measures, according to a new proposed rule by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC).
