Machesney Park, Ill. (February 8, 2019) “ Practice Velocity (PV) team members raised a $10,000 donation for Rockford Rescue Mission, helping to provide assistance to homeless, near-homeless, addicted and working poor individuals in the Rockford area.
Each year, Practice Velocity team members choose how they want to give back to the local community. In 2018, they chose the Rockford Rescue Mission, a non-profit organization that provides meals, a crisis center for men and women, and recovery programs for homeless individuals. PV Team members committed to raising donations and individual teams coordinated volunteer days at the Rockford Rescue Mission.
“Our teammates have always been focused on giving back to the community,” says Dr. David Stern, CEO of Practice Velocity. “Once team members heard about how the Rockford Rescue Mission helps those who are struggling and need assistance in the community, we felt very strongly about helping out.”
PV team members spent 2018 hosting special company-wide fund-raising events to collect donations specifically for the Rockford Rescue Mission. Some of those efforts included selling ID badge lanyards, bingo, raffle tickets, dunk tanks and more.
“The partnership with Practice Velocity has helped improve the lives of our homeless and hurting neighbors in the Rock River Valley,” says Ted Tomita, Rockford Rescue Mission Donor Relations Officer. “Their generous donation, along with their many hours of volunteer service at Rockford Rescue Mission, helps support the life-changing programs and services we offer. For 2019, we look forward to an even greater community impact with Practice Velocity.”
PV has also pledged a continuation of support for the Rockford Rescue Mission throughout 2019, committing to raise another $10,000, with Stern and his wife Kelly matching that donation, and 70 percent of team members committing to spending one day volunteering. This will be the first time PV has chosen a non-profit to support two consecutive years in a row.
“It is a privilege to support the mission for another year,” says Stern. “The entire company decided to continue support and set specific donation and volunteerism goals. We all have a huge heart for the Rockford Rescue Mission, and we are excited to have the opportunity to work closely with them once again.”
