I love Tough Mudders! For those of you who may not be familiar with these awesome events, I’ll fill you in. Competing in a Tough Mudder means getting through a 10-12 mile obstacle course designed by British Special Forces. The course tests your stamina, camaraderie, and strength —physical and mental. The gist of it is that you never really know what is around the corner. All you know is that you’re going to be wet, muddy and cold. You need to move fast and help others get over and through obstacles. With that imagery, do you wonder why over half a million of us have volunteered for this crazy event? First and foremost, the event is for a good cause. Tough Mudders have raised more than $3 million for the Wounded Warrior Project.
I also do Tough Mudders because they embody who I am. The skills it takes to get through a Tough Mudder are the same as the ones it takes to start a company or to be an excellent healthcare provider, or to navigate the world of urgent care EMR, for that matter. There will always be hurdles and obstacles to providing the best product, care, or corporate culture. It isn’t always easy. We all get dirty and muddy sometimes. The reward comes from looking back and knowing that our grit, stamina, and strength pulled our team through
