Congratulations to Practice Velocity client FastMed Urgent Care on earning the Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for accreditation. FastMed – which uses Practice Velocity’s VelociDoc® EMR for documentation and coding in its clinics – is the largest urgent care operator to earn this designation.
FastMed earned the distinction by demonstrating compliance with the Joint Commission’s national standards for health care quality and safety in ambulatory health care. FastMed is one of only 37 of the 5,250 non-hospital based urgent care centers to earn the Gold Seal of Approval for accreditation.
With multiple locations in North Carolina and Arizona, 24 of FastMed’s locations were surveyed by the Joint Commission team for compliance specific to the needs of patients. These standards focused mainly on infection prevention and control, leadership, compliance, facilities safety, medication management and more.
According to Kevin L. Blank, President and Chief Executive Officer of FastMed, the organization will continue to live up to the mission of providing convenient, quality care to FastMed patients. “The Joint Commission’s accreditation of FastMed is an honor, and a reflection of our commitment to meeting the highest performance standards in patient care,” Blank said.
On behalf of myself and the entire Practice Velocity team, we extend our sincere congratulations to FastMed on the honor of the Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval. We understand the commitment made to achieve these standards, and are proud to partner with this dedicated organization.
