In a blog post today, Politico hinted that CMS could release Meaningful Use Stage 3 this afternoon. To further this possibility is a Health Data Management article stating that the upcoming HIMSS Conference will feature a session titled, “CMS Meaningful Use Stage 3 Requirements.”

Key nuggets of information from the article include:

• “Veteran meaningful use policymakers Elisabeth Myers and Robert Anthony in the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services expect at HIMSS to lay out the requirements and compare them with previous program criteria.”

• “The proposed Stage 3 rule was sent to the Office of Management and Budget in early January for review.”

• Despite that, “A CMS spokesperson on March 12 told Health Data Management that the agency was still writing the rule.”
